November 1, 2015 – Zahav & Pre-Mitzvah (4/5)

Today our Sunday School class talked about values and ethical behavior. We spent some time defining these hard words and concepts, trying to relate them to our everyday lives. We decided values are ideas that are important to us and help us decide how to act. Ethical behavior is acting in a good way toward others. You can see these terms are closely linked. We drew or wrote about values and ethical behavior and then shared them with the class. For example, Harrison values his family and drew a picture of it (each person was wearing a Halloween costume!); Zoey drew a picture of someone giving food to a poor person.

The kids enjoyed learning the letter Daled in Hebrew and listening to a couple of stories that demonstrated ethical behavior. All the kids contributed to the discussions we had. What a great class! For the shalom session, all the kids helped make fleece blankets for premature babies in the hospital.

We missed Miss Emily and can’t wait to see her at the next session in two weeks. We are off from Sunday School next weekend. Enjoy!
