The Forbidden Conversation:  An autobiographical one-man performance by Gili Getz exploring the difficulty of having a conversation about Israel in the American Jewish community, followed by a discussion moderated by our own Alan Katz
“Heavy appetizers” and beverages will be served.
Who is this for?:  Ages High-school and up.  Are you tired or disengaged from what’s going on in Israel because it’s too complex or too painful to discuss? Do you feel like there’s a political roadblock or struggle when talking with your friends, your community, your family about Israel? Or, maybe you never go to these events – you feel strongly and know everyone else is mistaken. For all of those views, this event is for you.
We’ll come together to learn how to engage in a conversation about Israel and why it’s important to do so. We’re NOT going to “litigate the conflict” and we’re NOT going to try to come to agreement.  We ARE going to learn to articulate our own point of view better, and understand others.
