Rabbi Jerris is the Rabbi of the Society of Humanistic Judaism and provides philosophic, liturgical, ceremonial and organizational support for its affiliates and members.
Miriam has prepared a program based on our input, most particularly Sunday School parents. She will lay out the foundation with a bit of history about how Judaism has developed and changed and how Jews have always adapted to their time and place. Then she will talk a little about the Modern Jewish experience; – how we are distinctive (it’s the liturgy!) and why and how Humanistic Judaism is positioned to respond to where most Jews are today philosophically.
Coffee and bagels and coffee will be served beginning at 9:15 a.m. outside of the Pod. Miriam’s presentation will start at 9:30am.
