The story of Alfred Dreyfus
, the Jewish-French army captain falsely convicted of espionage in late-nineteenth century France, is well known. Less familiar, however, is the role that the press, in particular illustrated newspapers, played in shaping public opinion about the case.
This will be presented by Dr. Deborah Varat (nee Shafer).
She is a professor of art history and chair of the Humanities Department at Southern New Hampshire University.
Ellie and Dave Shafer are hosting a light brunch at 9:30.
