Along with thousands of congregations across the country, CHJ will hold its annual Human Rights Havdalah program. We will celebrate the Declaration of Human Rights and begin examining our own privilege, both historically and in the present moment. We live side by side with stunting poverty and hunger and inequality in one of the two richest counties in the U.S. It’s time to look to ourselves to understand the problems before we can fix them. How do we contribute to existing inequalities? Interactive exercises and discussion will help us explore what comes next in the struggle for human rights.
Fairfield Winds Duo: Max Moon & Kate Wegener will be playing a set of Beethoven duets while we gather and eat.
A light supper will be served. Please bring beverages to share: apple cider, soda water, wine, etc.
Park in the lot across the street or behind the church and enter through the side door. Please do not come up the stairs into the kitchen. It will be held in the library.
This is open to the public so bring your friends.
