A CHJ Sunday Schmooze
At CHJ our members are our best asset. Sunday Schmooze is an adult ed format in which we enjoy learning from and about each other by discussing a Jewish topic of particular interest to our members. Schmooze aims to bring together the best aspects of rap session conversations and retreat discussion explorations: women and men together, with a facilitator to help launch and coordinate the session, and a preselected current Jewish topic sure to spark good exchanges.
We will explore the experience of being part of an interfaith family. Topics will include experiences with intermarriage: being the child of an intermarried couple, being the parent of an adult child who is intermarried, being married or partnered with someone who is Jewish while having a child or parent who is not Jewish. In addition, we might consider experiences in which both partners are Jewish though they differ in attitudes towards religion and culture and/or how to partner in Jewish education for children.
Come to share your own experiences and learn about your fellow congregants!
